This Corsair RM850e refurb is a fully modular 850 watt Gold PSU that stands out for its low price and long warranty coverage. The bundle appears to include the same cables as a new unit, with two PCIe leads listed, and the eBay refurb carries a 2 year Allstate warranty. The main caution is refurb provenance, since the listing uses generic manufacturer approved language rather than a clear Corsair tested promise. It also sits below a B plus tier list rating, making it a value play with some trust tradeoffs.

It's $10 cheaper than the revive series on there website, possibly not as good warranty. It comes with all the same cables as a new one.
$59.01 with tax.

Revive series only 90 days warranty, while ebay has refurbished 2 years warranty from Allstate.

Yeah I bought one, but was thinking if you get one DOA I would rather deal with Corsair than Allstate

Your PSU is probably the most boring and underappreciated component in your PC. But it also has the power (ha!) to kill all of your other components. I'd buy used CPU's and RAM, but I don't think I'd ever trust a used PSU.

What is says is: "It has been professionally inspected, cleaned, and refurbished by the manufacturer or a manufacturer-approved vendor"

So no, you cannot be confident that it was refurbed and tested by Corsair themselves. There are plenty of companies that outsource their refurbishing to vendors that just slap a sticker on it and do nothing else. We have no way of knowing whether they did that or not.

EDIT: I'm not saying this thing is a death trap. I'm just saying it's a roll of the dice, and I'm not willing to gamble on my other very expensive components.

These could be new in a brown box considering the dip in builds because the cost of ram and graphics cards.

The most likely scenario, paying someone to even blow out and test/repair a used one wouldn't make economic sense.

The statement: "It has been professionally inspected, cleaned, and refurbished by the manufacturer or a manufacturer-approved vendor." is eBay's default verbiage for listing items at the refurbished condition. I figure it uses "OR" to cover all circumstances if a seller does it themselves, uses an external company, or both. However, such statement does mislead a bit if the seller is more restrictive - which appears to be the case with Corsair.

From Corsair's website: "Every unit is tested by CORSAIR to confirm it meets original performance specifications, then cleaned and repacked before it reaches you." [source: "What Certified Refurbished Means", https://www.corsair.com/us/en/c/c...I1-wXuIJ0]
