Vega Essential Protein is a vegan pea protein powder that stands out mainly for price and convenience, with some shoppers finding the chocolate flavor rich, not overly sweet, and acceptable in a blender. The deal math appears to depend on Subscribe and Save or a coupon, and the final price has been reported as low as $9.44. The biggest knocks are taste and texture, with repeated complaints that it tastes terrible and does not mix as well as other vegan proteins. A few also flag the low protein percentage and sodium, so it looks best for bargain hunters who already like pea protein.
The flavor can be rich and not overly sweet, and it may mix fine in a blender.
Some buyers report the formula may have changed, with the newer taste becoming comparable to Orgain.
Subscribe & Save pricing can bring the tub down to about $9.44 for some deal shoppers.
Some shoppers say the product can taste acceptable compared with other vegan options.
The powder can taste extremely bad, with descriptions like chemical concoction and among the worst tried.
The powder may not mix as well as other vegan proteins, which can affect shake texture.
The deal listing can be confusing because no coupon appears to be available for the shown price.
The serving protein percentage can be low at about 54%, which may indicate a lot of filler.
