My Korean friends just have metal ones and they are really good at metal chopsticks. Unsure if this is common on other asian culture.

Metal chopsticks can be a bit more slippery with foods like noodles that require a bit of grip. Otherwise for everything else it's fine. I do appreciate the durability of metal as opposed to wood because wood does deform overtime, and because metal is rigid (at least the good quality ones) it does pick up heavier food items better whereas a wooden chopstick might flex. Plus from hygiene perspective wood does absorb liquids so generally you do want to make sure it is aired out properly, whereas metal is metal. Haven't had metal chopsticks rust on me so they've worked very well. And yes, Korea has historically and currently use metal kitchenware like utensils, plates, bowls, and cups. Makes it super durable and virtually unbreakable for little ones that are careless!

Nah mostly just Koreans, other cultures use different materials. Japanese and Chinese tend to use wood and other non-stainless steel materials. At least these are thick square ones. Koreans used to use thin, flat stainless steel chopsticks and that's probably the hardest chopsticks to use.

I have many "chopsticks", purchased while in Korea. NONE of them are thin. Traditional ones are brass. That stopped when japan colonized the peninsula and went into every house, in every small village, and "confiscated them. I have no idea where you found "flat stainless steel chopsticks".

I find them very easy to use.
