classic 3 18" is enough to cook for 8 adults with 3 layers. Perfect for a family of 4-5 using 1-2 layers. Pros - uses less fuel then big brothers (big joe or big green egg 23").

The size works perfect. I own one for the last 5 years and the size is perfect. For a family of 4-party of 8 also hace two more layers to putt other suff at the same time ! Anything bigger becomes an issue that u always have too cook a lot of food. I grill steak on half of it perfect for 2 ppl without wasting any charcoal

That makes sense. I am just used to the Weber Kettle grill which is over 20.
