This is a physical pre-order for Ocarina of Time on Switch 2, framed as a full remake with updated visuals and quality of life changes rather than just a graphics tweak. The foil first printing and launch window stock are a big draw, and the price is seen as reasonable compared with Nintendo's own $70 listing and the game's rarity on sale. The main concerns are that it is still a faithful remake of a decades old game, so the value depends on nostalgia, and Amazon preorders have a spotty record for launch day delivery. A solid pick if you want the physical copy and the foil release.

I am all for a switch 2 version but $59.88 seems high. For me, $40 is the maximum

Idk if you remember, games back in 90s were this price. Games are the probably the only thing that didn't get inflated like everything else.
That's an understatement, even. Some cartridges in the '90s were $70, 80 or even more at retail (and that's in '90s dollars).

I also turn 40 on November 5th this year. It's disappointing to see Nintendo releasing yet another version of this game. The original has been available on every system since N64 minus the DS. The "realistic" characters look bad, similar to Smash Bros Wii human faces. But oh boy, you can hum and jump!

Why release this and not a compilation of the handheld games, or a remake for Majora's Mask? This just tells me that I'm too old to be an audience for Nintendo now. Can't wait for the terrible movie.

I don't believe Breasts of the Wild was done by Nintendo, are you thinking of a different game?

Lately Amazon for me has been terrible with getting stuff to me close to release day. I'm still waiting for Orbitals that released last week.
Damn, I thought my new home address has some issue or my account because of same delays. I rushed rep through amazon chat and received the orbital yesterday.

You still can preorder this and leave it seals for another 30+ years 😆. After all, it's "orcarina of time".

I miss when you used to get trinkets and goodies for pre-orders, but I guess I should just be thankful for a physical copy at this point. The game looks great! I'm familiar enough with the original that seeing stuff reimagined will feel extra special.

call me crazy but I don't think 1:1 remakes should cost as much as a brand new game, especially considering OOT doesn't need a gameplay overhaul, it's held up well but maybe make the item switching faster than going through menusthe graphics look like they slapped DLSS 5 on it, and if they didn't then even more yikeswould I buy and play OOT again? sure!would I pay the same price that new games cost? nope
Well a brand new game to Nintendo is 70 (Pokopia) or 80 (Mario Kart World), so they are giving you a break, but you got a point. When I was playing the Starfox "full remake" it was a cool game but their original design and skeleton was clearly held back by limitations from the 90s hardware. Some of the new Zelda environments look almost photorealistic but your verbs to interact with the world are simply jump or attack. They might get me with that gold foil though!
