It's a staff deal, so you know it's mediocre at best.

I think that's not accurate. This deal has been a Frontpage deal several times very recently, posted by a community member. See HERE and HERE.

Granted, if you can get it cheaper right now via Costco, that's great. I don't have a Costco membership, so don't know if this deal is available there.

Accurate or not in this case - the damage has been done. Staffers have been responsible for so many misleading 'deals' that now we don't trust ANY staff posts (maybe Corwin still gets a pass).

Even if SD wakes up and changes policies right this moment, you'll still be trying to scrub the smell of all the BS shilling off for years to come. You cannot un-ring a bell.

Hi tstarks! Just want to advise/confirm that I find my own deals. I do not represent any vendor or any manufacturer. I do not shill; every deal I post I genuinely feel is a slick deal worth considering. No one tells me what deals or products to post. Hope this clarifies a bit.

Well said- yeah so many "staff" (used loosely) have joined just to repost those people who e-mail them the free product, gift card, etc. for posting a deal. It's so easy to tell when it's a shill post with random character discount code, tons of photos/video reviews than a normal product and a bunch of other red flags.

You hardly ever see a Microcenter deal anymore and those used to be constant...now it's "save $0.18 on a can of cream of chicken soup," or "get 85% off with this discount code on FTRIGNBR's item."
