If I had a normal membership a year and two months ago, what do I do to get this? Just use a different email? Or do I need a throwaway phone number?
it expired 14 months ago or you bought 14 months ago?
If it expired 14 months ago, you should be ok as a new member. if it expired two months ago, yes different email and your spouses name is the best, you get a free 2nd membership on the account as "mr honey do spouse"
How does Sam's Club compared to Costco nowadays? I switched from Sam's to Costco 10 years ago. Wife said she's heard good things about Sam's Club nowadays, but didn't want to pay membership on both.

I have both, but the sam's club was essentially free. I got the plus so I can get things shipped free over a threshold. My honest opinion is Sam's club warehouse is crappier, but some sam's club warehouse is very nice to costco standard. As for pricing, I noticed they have similar pricing for the most part. Sometime costco would be more expensive, other times it would sam's club. I would say kirkland brand is better than member marks products. Sam's club pizzas and hot dogs are meh compared to costco's fast food. I say if you can get the membership for essentially free, I would try sam's club. Would i get rid of costco? Probably not because they are everywhere including other countries which can be very useful if you are traveling there. Would I continue to keep sam's club? Maybe if I can keep getting the ultra low membership price. Otherwise, I would skip the membership. I hope this helps!

Thanks a lot for your time sharing! I share the same impression in quality of food court items, but that was a while ago. Also remember times when we can get Sam's membership for free. Almost tempted to try out the basic for $25, but will certainly keep an eye out for the free ones if they still exist!

Perfect and it worked for me being a current member. I had a new Gmail account created to take advantage of the Bestbuy YTTV and Sunday ticket. I clicked the link and used new Gmail, along with my Google Voice number and my current name and address on file with them and it went thru!
I did get a popup saying "You look familiar. Join as new or renew" I clicked "new" and it was a go. I went back in and changed some account info just now. The free shipping over $50 is what I needed. My closest club is 17 miles away, just outside the delivery area though by a few miles.
Oh well, can't have it all.
