Rubbermaid Brilliance glass storage stands out for airtight, easy-to-stack meal prep containers that share lids across multiple sizes, which makes cleaning and packing simpler. The set is described as two 1.3 cup containers, two 4.7 cup containers, and one 8 cup container, and the glass version is valued for food storage and reheating. The main caution is lid durability, since cracking and hard removal are reported, and replacement lids are not sold directly. Still, long-term use and strong sealing come up often enough to make it a practical kitchen staple.

  • The deal can become cheaper with stacking coupons and additional Target offers, bringing the total down to about $18.94 or around $22 after tax.

  • The set includes multiple glass volume sizes that share the same lids, which reduces logistics for cleaning and packing food.

  • The containers can seal food well even when lids are difficult to open, especially when lids are not sealed over hot food.

  • The bundle can work well for meal prep because the smaller 1.3-cup pieces support recipe prep while the 4.7-cup pieces support larger portions.

  • Lids can crack and become hard to remove when they are sealed with hot food, which can require aggressive force.

  • Replacement lids are not sold by Rubbermaid, so broken lids may require paying for replacements elsewhere or switching brands.

  • The included piece configuration may vary between 3.2-cup and 4.7-cup variants, so buyers may need to confirm which kit they receive.

  • The smaller 1.3-cup containers can feel too tiny for practical use, and the 4.7-cup containers can feel too heavy for packing lunch.

I'll lose them before the lid breaks.

you say that but all the 1 star reviews say how annoying the lids are, how easily they crack, how hard they are to remove. They are breaking because of how hard they are to take off without aggressive force. So beware.

The main reason why the lids are hard to get off/breaking is because people are sealing the lids while food is still hot, which creates extra suction and making it harder to open. I own about 20 of these and have 2 broken corners across all my containers. Still seal food perfectly.

I saved an extra 15% with promo code/coupon code.

Save 15% on select Home Items.
I clicked on a different Rubbermaid that was advertising the 15% off savings and clicked apply.
The coupon code applied to the 10-Pc Rubbermaid Brilliance Glass Food Storage Set.

The big container 8 Cup goes on sale for ~$10 a piece on amazon.
So you are getting the other 4 glass containers for ~$19.
I think that's a pretty good deal.
Only drawback is that you have to buy 2 units to get free shipping.

How are these compared to the similar sets they sell at Costco?

Costco set has coupon that brings he price to around $20.

I think it was "Snapware Pyrex 18-piece Glass Food Storage Set"

Includes:
(2) 1-cup small round containers with lids
(2) 2-cup small rectangular containers with lids
(2) 4-cup medium square containers with lids
(2) 4-cup medium round containers with lids
(1) 6-cup large rectangular container with lid

This one at target:
(2) 5.36 Inches (W) x 3.62 Inches (H), Capacity 4.7 Cup
(1) 7.6 Inches (W) x 2.77 Inches (H), Capacity 8 Cup
(2) 5.36 Inches (W) x 2.62 Inches (H), Capacity 3.2 Cup

Which similar sets? Does Costco sell Rubbermaid Brilliance now?

If that's the similar set…then it doesn't compare. Those lids on the Snapware are a huge flawed design and have far too many points of failure. Once one of the latches breaks (and it will) they become useless.

The Rubbermaid lids are far better designed and if treated with care will last since they are made very simply and thoughtfully.

I bought these years ago, they were great until the lids started cracking then I had a bunch of dishes but no lids. I reached out to Rubbermaid and was basically told to kick rocks. Snapware of the same vintage are still going strong, if you have a Costco membership I'd just go snapware.

Sounds like user error, or people are being too aggressive with them.

That's quite likely.

As another data point:

I too own a bunch of these containers (about a dozen) and only one latch was warped a bit because I sealed it incorrectly and put weight on top, but it still seals just fine.

Over the course of five years they have worked brilliantly!

FYI - If the lids break, you're SOL from Rubbermaid since they don't sell them directly and they will charge you even under warranty for a replacement. You are probably better off buying something else from Pyrex/Snapware since they will ship you replacement without much trouble.

Can I buy just a lid for my storage container?
Unfortunately, we do not sell replacement lids, nor are we able to replace them free of charge. Since 2017, our storage containers have been managed by a licensee.

I had rubbermaid refund me for some I bought at target a couple years back. They offered to replace or refund but I had already purchased another set.

IMO Buy from IKEA. They have containers and lids separate.
