Missed the Walmart deal by a hair.
It's when you get into unoptimized slop messes where they just batch upscaled all the textures or shipped the stock Unreal Engine template that you run into problems.
The latest versions of DLSS might even let you play at 1440P in some games.
Plus, we're seeing a level of stagnation right now in trying to push fidelity higher because of the memory price fixing. Microsoft and Sony aren't going to release a new console anytime soon, unless they plan on competing directly with the PC market and put out a $1200 system.
