Not food-grade for cooking: The product page explicitly states "not for baking" - I thought baking soda was just that regardless of use, guess I was wrong. This said I did buy this when on sale last time.

Not true. It is whatever you are calling "food grade" and is perfectly safe for consumption. It is 100% the same ingredient the difference however could be consistency of the texture. https://churchdwight.com/ingredie...-Soda.aspx
The granulation in the fridge-specific packaging can sometimes be slightly coarser, meaning it might not dissolve perfectly or leaven your baked goods correctly, causing cookies or breads to fail to rise as expected.
