Am considering the same. But how does it hold? Someone claimed it's not solid enough and will soon/eventually develop a curve.

I have no experience with it. Also, with all the current controversy surrounding fender, I am still deciding if I want to go through or just get a pre-loved guitar with rosewood neck from reverb

When you don't know the weight of the guitar you're getting and you're paying $2000 minimum that's a tough combination. Strats and Teles can be anywhere from 7.5 pounds to 9 pounds.

That is the risk that you take on any custom guitar

Please explain because I don't see that this is a risk you have to take buying online today. Mod shop is not a custom guitar either. It's a partscaster put together by Fender corporate.

Mine came out to $1700 after cashback and 10% coupon code. USA strat chambered body, full rosewood neck, exact pickups I wanted, color I wanted etc. it's a very good deal for the right person. If I would buy everything individually I would have payed maybe $1400 for just the parts without a full rosewood neck. At that point, the difference negligible enough for me to go with fender

Solid rosewood neck? Seems like the most expensive upgrade. Does it really make a difference sonically, and/or does is add value if I sell at some point down the line?

I didn't say it was a bad thing to do. I just said that with all of the retailers weighing guitars from Sweetwater to Wilcutt to Wildwood to Fuller to Butler to Carter's; you don't need to play a weight lottery spending upwards of $2000. The problem with their chambered bodies is that they're so super light at 5-6 pounds that neck dive is a real possibility depending on the type of neck you get (full rosewood for ex.) and locking tuners. It's simply too much to ask some people to see what they get back and there's no return policy. I have built my own guitars and know exactly what they're going to weigh and spent less than that so for me that's better. And there stories of MOD shop guitars coming in with problems and people having a hard time getting Fender to take them back. Most of the deals here are actually deals where there's little downside and people just snap them up. This is more of an opportunity for a certain type of player to get a few hundred dollars off upgrades which is about how much you save.
