Dell's S2725QS is a 27 inch 4K IPS monitor that stands out for sharp image quality, 120Hz smoothness, and strong value at this price. The color looks excellent, the screen presentation pops, and the speakers are unusually good for a monitor. Used like new units often arrive close to new, sometimes with factory seals or only light box wear, and the warranty can still have plenty of time left. The main caution is resale condition, with reports of dead on arrival units, black screens, and occasional mismatched model tags, so the received unit should be checked carefully.
Gamers wanting a 27-inch 4K high-refresh monitor, because the IPS panel, 120Hz refresh, and strong color make it a standout value.
Yes. There are reports of dead-on-arrival units, black-screen failures, random shutoffs, and menu glitches, though other buyers received working monitors and chose to use Dell warranty replacement instead of returning to Amazon.
Yes. The 27-inch 4K IPS panel with 120Hz, FreeSync Premium, and 350 cd/m² brightness is described as an unusually strong price for the spec set, and several buyers call it the cheapest 27-inch 4K high-refresh LCD they've bought. Some units also arrive effectively open-box or even factory-sealed.
It can. Some units have arrived with factory seals still intact, while others were only lightly handled with minor box wear or small scuffs on the back, so the resale condition can range from nearly new to visibly repackaged.
The picture is described as having good color and strong pop at default IPS settings, and the built-in speakers are reported to be unusually powerful and good for monitor speakers. The main limitation is that it does not work well with a streaming-stick remote for power or volume control.
Yes. One shipment had a monitor whose service tag and model number did not match the box, with the panel itself showing S2721QS instead of S2725QS. Buyers should check the label on the monitor itself before assuming the box contents are correct.
So I was able to test out the monitor last night after receiving it yesterday afternoon. Basically, I just checked for basic functionality such as does it power on and off and does it get a picture so I connected it to one of my gaming rigs via DisplayPort and boy, was I surprised by the monitor's presentation. The original retail box was in somewhat rough shape, and I noticed there was a long smudge and a few fingerprints across the panel, and some slight dust on the back of the monitor which I was easily able to clean off which made a difference. Other than that, there was some minor scuffs in the area on the back of the monitor where the mount is applied which is probably due to the prior owner more than likely forcing it in (PAUSE), however, I'm very pleased with the condition of this monitor overall based on what I paid for it ($127.27) for what I got, and the colors really do pop on the display at the default settings for it to be an IPS and I couldn't be happier w/ the end result. One of the best once in a lifetime deals I've come across in quite a long time. I'll eventually get around to doing a review of this monitor on my YouTube channel once time permits.
You're lucky I paid $142 for open books like new, arrived today, which was dead with a black screen, no matter what I tried, it stays black, so it's going to return

Update, I contacted Dell support and they're going to replace the faulty monitor under the warranty. I chose this option versus return to Amazon because you cannot beat the price of $142, which the item looks like it hasn't even been opened, but it was a faulty monitor
I received mine the day after ordering. It arrived in pretty good condition with no problems. It still has pretty much another year of warranty left on it. Overall, I'm pretty happy with the purchase.

Thank you. I also discovered that Amazon shipped to me the faulty monitor with different service tag and SSN than what's on the box. On my order, model number Box shows model number S2725QS but monitor itself shows S2721QS!!!You will always need to check what Amazon is sending "open box" purchase

Wowzers 😮🤦🏾 ♂️. Despite that, it's awesome of Dell to still send you a replacement monitor rather than them have you do a store return to the original merchant for assistance.

The monitor can deliver strong color performance with IPS settings that make the display colors pop at default configuration.
The used unit can arrive in whole condition with no dead pixels after setup, even when the retail box shows return wear.
The resale purchase can include a remaining warranty period, which may reduce risk versus buying without coverage.
The speakers can provide powerful, good-quality audio for a monitor experience.
The used units can show reliability failures within months, including random shutoffs, menu behavior issues, and black-screen outcomes.
The shipment can include mismatched model numbers or service tags compared with what the box lists, so verification is necessary.
The brightness rating is 350 cd/m², and some buyers wish it were closer to 400 cd/m² for their preferences.
The resale condition can include panel smudges, fingerprints, and minor scuffs that may require cleaning or inspection before use.
