Doesn't Uber charge more for those with gift card balances? Business Insider etc. suggest wealthier spending habits affects prices, no?

Same with not-said-but-inferred higher prices for lower battery and other desperation measures...

But probably enough chances of beating a particularly bad Lyft and Waymo price combo to warrant this

Damn, only 15% off now. Missing the days when Costco have it for 20% off and occasionally 25% off.

Community Reviews

This Uber gift card promo is a targeted 15 percent discount on Uber Cash that can also be used for Uber Eats, with instant email delivery and easy self send redemption. The strongest upside is the effective savings, especially when paired with Uber One or other card rewards. The main drawback is reliability, since the offer does not appear on every account and checkout often triggers payment errors, card verification, or fraud declines. A useful deal if it shows up on your account and clears payment.

Common Questions (5)

  • The checkout can fail with generic errors or declines across PayPal, Apple Pay, credit cards, and Google Pay. In some cases it clears after Uber's card verification step with two small charges, or after bank fraud authorization is completed.

  • Yes. The 15% promo appears on some accounts and not others, and accounts that had it in prior rounds may not see it again. It also seems tied to account activity for some users, with inactive or infrequently used accounts sometimes not getting the offer.

  • The Uber gift card can be redeemed into Uber Cash and used for Uber or Uber Eats. The 15% promo explicitly says it is not valid for Uber One gift cards, so the discount applies to the standard Uber gift card instead.

    SlickMountain495broadwayblueEliteNewbz

  • The offer is under the app's "send a gift" section. After purchase, you can share the gift card to yourself, then redeem it from the gift card section.

    tehcmanEliteNewbz

  • It can post as Uber Cash and may code as travel on some cards. One purchase earned 4x points as travel with the U.S. Bank Altitude Connect Visa.

Any expiration date on the 15% if it shows up in your account?
The banner has a small icon with an "i" on the right of it , that will show details of the promo

Mine shows: expiration Sept 16 8pm or while supplies last

No dice for me. Maybe because I haven't used Uber in over a year? I use it very infrequently.

I wonder if it is working for people with verified accounts. I have the offer but the payment failed with literally everything. My wife's account is verified but she doesn't have the offer. Mine is not and payment failed. Idk it's worth verifying and giving out my details to them just to test this out.
