Doesn't Uber charge more for those with gift card balances? Business Insider etc. suggest wealthier spending habits affects prices, no?

Same with not-said-but-inferred higher prices for lower battery and other desperation measures...

But probably enough chances of beating a particularly bad Lyft and Waymo price combo to warrant this

Spent 30 minutes and tried about 5 times and finally got the payment processed (U.S. Bank Visa). The app prompt an OTP, then the U.S. Bank declined on the first try. Replied text fraud alert and restriction on the card removed by the bank. Then stuck at "Verify your card" 3 times. Finally, got the OTP prompt again and then it went through. All in the name of "Card security and fraud prevention".

Purchase Amount: $500.

Hoping to get 4X points (travel) but not able to confirm when the transaction is in "pending" status.

Update: It posted as "Uber Cash". It did earn 4x points as "travel" with the U.S. Bank Altitude Connect Visa.

Has anyone who gets regular cycling UberEats coupons (e.g. 15-50% off) have the coupons disappear after leaving a gift card balance in your account?

Yes, I always keep at least $200 Uber cash, and still get those 25%-50% (usually 40%) off delivery coupons at least 1x a week.

Good to hear they don't stop the coupons with a GC balance.

Do you only order UberEats with a coupon? My theory is once you place orders without a coupon, they stop providing them cuz they know you'll order without one.

Yes, I only order UberEats delivery with a coupon, but I also only order 1x/week. I'm not counting those ~25% offers for late/large/sushi/priority/convenience/etc orders.

On a different account (also with a large >$200 Uber Cash balance) that I don't use as frequently (<1x UberEats monthly; mainly for rides), I would get more 50% off delivery and 30-50% off pickup coupons maybe 1x every two months.

Of course, that is the suspicion I always have. I will still compare prices with Lyft and then decide which one to go for. Lyft gives me 5% with the Chase card, and sometimes a 10% offer on Chase offers also pops up.

I've put that to the test anytime I travel with my wife and/or daughters, and it's absolutely true. We all individually check prices at the same time with the same destination, and my price is higher 100% of the time. My daughter's price is lowest almost at the same rate.
