I agree, my dad had his Makita for about 25yrs, when I got my own home I bought a Makita brushless, I don't think I'm ever gonna have to replace it.
I always buy Makita for the tools I know I'm gonna use frequently and want no fuss. I buy ryobi for specialty once in a while use tools. Any other brand in between if the price is on sale. So far I have dewalt, makita, and ryobi systems lol. I like makita by far, the string trimmer, sawzall, drill, impact wrench, their 12v socket wrench: I charged that thing maybe 3x since I bought 3-4yrs ago and I have 4 cars I work on regularly every year. Makita for life.
