This Lenovo B210 is a simple, low cost laptop backpack that works well for carrying a laptop and its accessories together. The lightweight design has held up for years in regular use, and the compact size makes it handy for travel or as a packing cube. Padding is minimal, though, so it is better suited to ultrabooks, tablets, or a laptop already in a sleeve than to protecting a heavy 16 inch machine from a drop. It also lacks a water bottle pocket and has a one sided zipper, so the tradeoff is basic convenience over protection.

Common Questions (3)

  • It has limited padding and is better for carrying a laptop than for absorbing a drop. A laptop sleeve inside the backpack can add protection and help hold the laptop more firmly, especially for expensive or heavier machines.

  • It can hold up well for years of regular use, including travel and a few days per week of carrying. The tradeoff is that it is not especially durable compared with sturdier bags, so some people treat it as a low-cost replacement every few years.

  • No dedicated water bottle pocket is mentioned for the B210, and the one-sided zipper design leaves no obvious bottle spot. If you need bottle storage, the B515 model had water bottle pockets, but that feature is not shown on the current listing.

I work for an IT company and we get these bags all the time for our clients rentals and they're truly underrated and top quality. A lot for a great price tbh

I purchased one and have been using it during training at my new job. It's of decent quality, with a simple design, and low cost.

I have this bag and mistakenly trusted it to protect my 5.4lb 16" laptop.
When sliding the bag off my shoulder about 2ft off the ground, the strap slipped through my hands and the bag fell straight to the ground, damaging the corner of the laptop that landed first. Nothing but issues with the gpu ever since, and I had to replace it.
I've moved on to a much hardier bag for my large laptop preferences.

This bag is probably fine for the more ultrabook class. Less momentum and impact pressure for a 2-3lb laptop in a fall than for me to ask it to protect my 5lb+ monster.

These are good for holding a laptop, but not good for dropping a laptop.

There's not much to the padding in these, but they are still great for keeping a laptop and it's stuff all together.

The blue one is $7.20

$7 shipped is just plain stupid. I'd be in for one if my gray one every decided to die but it is going on 2 years of 2-3 days a week use.

But can not store a water bottle - deal breaker for me - did I miss something?

Wow! Thanks for the tip. Even if it's flimsy I like using cheap backpacks as packing cubes when I travel.

Probably good for iPad or tablet with a sleeve already protecting it. I would not trust $10 bag to protect $1000+ ThinkPad..

I've had this backpack for 5 years and have traveled a lot with it and am surprised it held up. Then regarding padding, I recommend putting a laptop sleeve in the backpack, it adds a bit more bulk but it will protect the laptop and hold it more firmly in the backpack. I even got one that opens from the side so I can easily pull and put in the laptop easily.

I'm not a fan of this bag, except it being a smaller bag. I dislike that the zipper is one sided, and as others have pointed out, no spot for a bottle.

I have had several Lenovo backpacks. They are not durable, but good enough. Since they are always on sale for around $10. I just change them every few year. Lol. It seems there are several for sale around $10 now. The blue one is only $7.20.
