Just a quick tip: AirPod 5 just released with general improvements and price cut, it should be on the shelf of Costco soon.

AirPods Pro 3 here are the in ear model to get for active noise cancellation, with AppleCare plus bundled in the Costco offer. The deal stands out for the protection included, and coverage appears to activate automatically after syncing, with iOS showing it through December 2028. Costco also adds a 90 day electronics return window, which makes it easier to watch for a lower price and rebuy if needed. The main caution is pricing, since recent mentions ranged from $199 to $212.99 and a lower Amazon promo was also noted, so timing matters.

Common Questions (4)

  • Yes. The receipt can print with AppleCare+ included, and the coverage can show as active in iOS after syncing. One report shows coverage running through December 2028, which is about 2 years and 3 months.

  • AirPods Pro 3 use in-ear active noise cancellation, while AirPods 5 are open-style and not in-ear. That means the Pros' noise cancellation is vastly stronger and not comparable to the open-style model.

  • Costco electronics have a 90-day no-questions-asked return policy. If the price drops before Christmas, you can return and rebuy at the lower price.

    Computer MD

  • The deal can be reduced by linking Costco to DoorDash and using the COSTCO20 code for 20% off up to $50. Buying DoorDash gift cards from Costco and applying them can lower the out-of-pocket cost further, depending on local tax and fees.

Does it have the AppleCare too?
No. It doesn't. I have a version 1 for 6 years and recently the left earbud is kinda buzzing. If you feel you need AppleCare, Costco deal is the one to get.

Completely different products. AirPods 5 are not in-ear so their ability to provide noise cancellation will be vastly different to the Pros.
Yeah, it's way less than price point that makes the difference between the products. Some people can't use airpod 5s

Anyone knows what happens if you have paid apple care on a device but also have family apple care $50/month subscription?
You're covered by your family plan and shouldn't pay for an individual AppleCare

Costco has a 90 Day return policy for electronics no questions asked. if there is a lower price before Christmas simply return and rebuy at the lower price.

Right now, you can link your Costco account with DoorDash. DoorDash has a coupon for twenty percent (20%) off at Costco up to $50 (Code: COSTCO20). The price is slightly higher for the item and 2 years of AppleCare, $212.99, but you can get even more off by buying four (4) DoorDash gift cards, electronic delivery, from Costco for $159.98. I have DashPass which eliminates a $4.99 delivery fee. It shows a $7.45 service fee for me. Anyway, before adding a tip and with an estimated sales tax, the cost is shown as $192.07. Taking into consideration my DoorDash credit costs me 80 cents on the $1, the true cost is approximately $153.66. The price will vary based upon your local sales tax and your own DoorDash fee schedule. << I see that this has been posted elsewhere. >>

Bought a pair at local Costco yesterday. The sign showed it at $200 as the normal price, but no mention of the AppleCare. The guy I asked was unsure and said if it did not pop up in the set up, I could simply bring it back for a refund. I did not see it when setting up so I will be taking it back.

I bought a pair at my local Costco (UT) and the sign did mention the 2 years of apple care. I asked the cashier how I needed to redeem it and the receipt printed out with the apple care right there. I planned on just keeping the receipt in the box. Then I looked in iOS in the settings for the new AirPods and the apple care is listed as active through December 2028. That is 2 Years and 3 months. Pretty sweet.

When I synced mine to my phone, I saw that it automatically activated the AppleCare and in fact it is good until Dec 2028!

They were 199 and Indy with the AppleCare, but that was only good through yesterday. I took advantage of it!
