if you put two of these together will you get a total area of 20x40 or 20x20. im trying to see if these can be used to build a cheap 20" box filter

With a thick duct tape or those black rubbers tapes will do the work. Or build a frame with trim wood, so it can just slide in side by size.

They do make filters that size I believe but surely much more expensive.

Is this a good price? Don't buy these often enough to know what a good sale is.

6 pack for 24 is cheap. they are $7-9 a piece usually and 6 packs run around $35-42 range, talking for the specific model and sizing listed.
