The E12 is a compact Bluetooth label maker with a built in keyboard, backlit display, and four included tapes, and it can also print from a phone. It stands out for the extra tape bundle and the convenience of using either the keyboard or the app. The main cautions are connection trouble with some Samsung phones, a finicky promo code flow in the Amazon app, and tape that may be too weak for long term use on plastic patch panels, wall plates, or cables. A handy starter labeler if the included tape and app quirks fit the job.

Common Questions (5)

  • Yes. The E12 package includes 4 tapes total, and the unit has a backlit display. One comment also notes the box has 2 tapes plus 2 tapes already in the unit.

  • In the Amazon phone app, enter the promo code and tap the arrow button next to the promo field. Tapping the yellow Continue button can fail to apply the code.

  • It can be finicky with Samsung phones: one report says the phone sees the printer but times out during pairing. The built-in QWERTY keyboard still prints normally if Bluetooth fails.

  • The included tape is described as sticky enough for paper, but not long-lasting on plastic patch panels, wall plates, or ethernet/fiber cables. For cabling jobs, a more durable label tape may be needed.

  • Not always. One report says the E11, and likely the E12, will not charge from a negotiated USB-C port and needs USB-A to USB-C or an adapter to charge properly.

Very interested in this item. Is this for one-time use? If not, where to find replacement for the toner and tapes? Thanks for any info!

A Brother P-Touch label maker can last for 10 to 20 years. I would not buy this strange unreliable product.

Which specific model of Brother P-Touch would you recommend that has similar features?
Thanks.

Is this pretty much same concept as those DO(or D12 ( small BT units that flooded the front page on Amazon for like 6 months straight few years ago )but with full keyboard? I like that you can use any of the cheap Amazon tapes and not locked into Dynamo over price ..thickness is just half in though ? Or rather height?

I bought one of these and my 10 year old son and his friends had a great time making labels. He liked it so much he asked me if he could spend his allowance to get one. This morning he's in his room making labels before school.

Who knew label making would be so entertaining.

Should I go with this one (E12) or the more commonly promoted, slightly higher rated E11?
E12 You basically get an extra roll of tape for $2 more plus backlit display. Both work with your phone so you're not locked to the keyboard of either device

Mine came in this morning. Cant get the stupid thing to connect to my Samsung phone, but it does print fine with the built in QWERTY keyboard. The phone see's it, but doesnt connect and times out. Debating on returning it or keeping it. Since it's going to be for cabling jobs, the QWERTY keyboard will be used most of the time, if not all of the time. Tape is the cheap tape, sticky enough to stick to paper, but wont last long on plastic patch panels, wall plates, or ethernet/fiber cables. More than likely that corn syrup/vinegar glue.

Here's a link to the app you have to use with it. Bad reviews.

Edit 2: Decided to return it. I think I'm going to stick with Dymo or Brother on my label printers.
