I don't have this one but I do have the Seesii flux core MIG/stick/lift-TIG welder that was on sale for $62 and it actually works decently well, similar to the $180 Vulcan from Harbor Freight. I've welded as thin as 20ga sheet metal which works fairly well, and up to 1/4" mild steel which works decently well if you preheat it first. Without preheating I'd estimate 1/8" thick is about the max you'd want to weld and achieve a strong weld consistently, maybe 3/16" if you really go slow and create the largest hottest puddle you can to get max penetration on thick pieces. I also have the ArcCaptain 200MP and it works as well as a $2000 Lincoln but costs 1/4 the price!

Been wanting to add welding to my DIY skill set. For the price, I'm giving this a shot.

I used this machine this afternoon for the first time after buying it a week ago. Helmet is cheap, just glasses and plastic face adapter. I have no welding experience and managed to make the world's dirtiest weld on a kids shopping cart to fix it. So it does work, I'm sure someone that knows what they are doing can make a reasonable weld.
