Hook up and place everything where it needs to be. You must have a spare speaker with a positive/negative terminal. If not manually set up the speakers.
You don't need to wait to have every speaker in order to setup what you got.
That's $1050 so $799 is definitely a steal.
This is still my main setup for the past 14 years. Highly recommend.
Community Reviews
This Energy RC bundle is a full home theater speaker set that stands out for smooth, neutral sound, strong dialogue handling, and heavy, old school build quality. The RC70 towers, RC LCR center, and RC10 bookshelves are repeatedly described as sounding beautiful, with enough output for music and movies, and the center channel carries most TV dialogue. The main caution is shipping and customer service at Adorama, where damaged boxes, wrong replacements, and long delays are repeatedly reported. A subwoofer is still needed for full range performance, so it works best as the core of a larger setup.
Common Questions (5)
They can arrive damaged, especially the heavier RC-70 towers, and several orders reported crushed boxes, broken foam, or outright speaker damage. Other buyers received pristine units, so the practical risk is shipping quality rather than the speakers themselves.
The RC series is described as more neutral than warm, with even frequency response rather than exaggerated highs and boomy lows. Some listeners still find them too bright or sibilant and may need to lower treble or check for a bad tweeter.
At $799, some consider it basically MSRP, while others call it a steal because the same speaker set sold for about $1,050 years ago and has remained a main system for long-term owners. The value depends heavily on getting undamaged stock and being comfortable with the current price.
Yes. The bundle includes 5 speakers total, and the two RC-10 bookshelf speakers arrive together in a single box.
A subwoofer is an absolute must if you want solid full-range performance from this set. The speakers can sound great on their own, but bass extension is limited enough that adding a sub is the practical way to complete the system.

There's been some silly handwringing/scaremongering on other SD threads involving this Energy bundle due to Adorama's stupid mis-listing on their website: "Energy Reference Connoisseur Home Theater Speaker, Bundle with RC-70 Floorstanding Pair, RC-10 Bookshelf, RC-LCR Center Channel" with some folks thinking it means you only get 4 speakers not 5.
On a budget & if you want Energy.
The CF-70 package is back for $499 which includes a decent sub.
Add a used $150-$200 receiver, and you have a very comparable setup to this
Especially since you still need a sub.
