I bought a set a month ago, but one of the RC70 units arrived severely damaged. I filed for a replacement that same day, but it's been a full month and I'm still waiting. Without it, I can't set up my system at all. The return window for my new amp and subwoofer is about to close, and I'm really worried I won't even be able to test if they work before time runs out.

Why would you not be able to run the system without one speaker?

Brother. Broheim. Broencephalitis.
Hook up and place everything where it needs to be. You must have a spare speaker with a positive/negative terminal. If not manually set up the speakers.
You don't need to wait to have every speaker in order to setup what you got.
the c10 sub is NOT a good match for the rc-70's... it's not NEARLY good enough - if you're looking for something fairly inexpensive, I'd recommend looking at the RSL speedwoofers

Yes better performance often comes at a price.
Another inexpensive option would be the Dayton CS1200.
Received mine in perfect condition. I've been thoroughly enjoying this set. Definitely not an audiophile here, but these certainly do the trick. The onkyo 7100 matches extremely well with these. Using a pair of focal 10's with em, eventually upgrade the subs to a single dayton ss18.

cs1200 is better than nothing but it's only rated from 28-200 and representation at the lower end of the spectrum is pretty weak even. zero infrasonics, lackluster bottom-of-subbass representation. there's a reason it's so heckin' cheap. - if you're looking for alternatives to the rsl speedwoofers i mentioned i'd go a bit higher end and snag a hsu vtf-tn1 - that's what i'm after.

We are talking about "inexpensive" options correct?
I hope you're not suggesting that $1250 Hsu sub is a bit higher alternative to RSL inexpensive sub(RSL10e)!?
If so, I completely disagree!
I would really recommend the RSL 12S or at least the 10S, unless you jump on the 2xRSL 10E for $575. That would be a cracking system with the Energy deal.
I still contemplate getting a second set of these speakers after all the years I've enjoyed my existing set.
FYI, I'm currently running a Monolith M-215 with them in one room, and an SVS PB13 Ultra(plugged) in another. There is nothing they can't do well.
Easily a $2000 set of speakers.

A lousy sub is a lousy sub, has absolutely nothing to do with whether it will "match" with Speakers X, Y, or Z.
"Match" = one of the most meaningless made-up BS sales-pitches endlessly abused by salesmen.

At that price get two for $340, used receiver & you should be set.
People often say two subs is better than one!

Another inexpensive good option would be Emotiva's Airmotiv XS12e which is $399 right now.
