Star Trek Lower Decks is the animated Trek series that best captures the franchise's classic exploratory, problem solving spirit while leaning into animation for bigger visual gags and ideas. It lands especially well for fans of Futurama, Rick and Morty, or Gravity Falls, and the crossover with Strange New Worlds is worth revisiting. The set also bundles 50 half hour episodes, which makes the current price feel a little steep for some. As a complete series release, it is a solid way to own a standout modern Trek entry.
Viewers who like Futurama-style animated sci-fi comedy, because it has the same playful tone and can hook them into Star Trek.
Star Trek fans who want the franchise's classic exploratory, problem-solving spirit, because it stays true to that tone after Voyager.
Fans who enjoy animated shows doing impossible visual gags, because the format lets it do things live action cannot.
Collectors wanting a full run of a modern Star Trek series, because it packages the complete series in one set.
Viewers who already own every episode and wanted new material, because this is a complete series set with no additional seasons to discover.
Shoppers expecting digital copies with the discs, because full-series sets can omit digital codes entirely.
Buyers who want a large episode count at a lower per-episode price, because 50 half-hour episodes can feel steep at this price.
