You can also try using the included magnetic mount and any bar clamp to hold onto a doorway, cabinet, etc. Use two if you need to. Those should cost less than $20 and will come in handy elsewhere.

I bought this previously and ended up returning it. If you try to use it at all with the self-leveling off (like hanging pictures on the stairs) it just flashes constantly. Super annoying.

Are you sure you turned self leveling off, I don't think you did... My Fantiik 4x360 only flashes when self leveling is on and you exceed its self leveling capabilities.

I mean it wasnt intuitive to find out but there is a manual

I bought a tripod from Amazon - it's even on sale until October 2....

(I love the device - I have used it for several projects)

I bought one of these at the same price a few months ago. Was hoping I could use it outdoors, but the laser is much too weak and difficult to see outdoors during the daytime.

I have an older BOSCH PRO GLL50-20. Does this Fanttik has brighter laser lines in comparison to the Bosch?
The Bosch often struggles in bright situations.

It flashes cause it's not level, once it's level it stays solid...that's the user indicator that you are level, at least my Fanttik like this works that way

I'd like to use this in a pantry for installing shelves. Is the magnetic bracket suitable to hold the unit to a drywall screw?

From the item's page:

"To allow for precise alignment at various angles, lock the pendulum into manual mode. The laser beam will remain fixed and flash every 4 seconds"

It is incredibly annoying to work with.
