Great tool but comes with great responsibility. Setting 3 is the "I wasn't asking mode". Bolts come off or snap on 3.

Hell, I'd say this may be OVERKILL for your home mechanic! "1030 ft-lbs of max fastening torque and 1400 ft-lbs of max breakaway torque" is massive for your average homeowner. There only like 1 nut on a car that a mid torque dewalt like the 891 can't blast off. This is a BIG BIG BOY impact gun for a home mechanic!

Learned this the hard way. If the DCF891 isn't taking a bolt off, you should soak it with liquid wrench and blast it with heat. Using a DCF900 will just snap the bolt in half and you'll end up drilling it out for hours.

I've also seen on the torque test youtube channel that it is extremely hard on sockets. The 1/2" anvil just isn't designed to transmit that level of torque. 3/4" anvil is better suited, DCF964 for example, which has gone on sale before on woot for cheap.

Same here. I have the 5ah batteries already. Lookin at the mid torque version since it's just home use. I've seen prices around 150 over the summer, missed my chance.
