I've been real happy with mine. I groomed 2 Springer spaniels every month or so for 14 years before my first one failed (case cracked, probably my own fault because I never changed the blade guide). My replacement has been going strong for 3 years on my replacement spaniels.

I use my "animal" clippers to do my husbands hair all the time. I get the stainless guard combs (also used on the dogs) Make sure to use at 30 blade with the steel guard combs.

The best pet clippers are the $18 cordless ones on Amazon (I bought mine for $12). I have 3 chow chows and that's all I use. They're also quiet. I got the tip from my vet.

These are made to use different blades for different lengths. The blades aren't cheap but if you keep them oiled they last a long time.
