Honestly, it should be. $56 for a 8 year old controller is NOT a slickdeal.

I got two Switch 2 Pro controllers for $65 each (One from BB, one from QVC)

Community Reviews

The Switch Pro Controller is still widely regarded as one of Nintendo's best controllers, and this price lands in the range of past discounts. It is especially appealing for Switch play and PC emulation, with praise for the feel and, on newer versions, TMR sticks that help avoid drift. The main concerns are age and value, since similar or lower prices have appeared on Amazon Resale, eBay, Best Buy, and QVC, and some listings may be fake or region mismatched. Compatibility with Switch 2 power on is also called out as a limitation.

Common Questions (5)

  • $55.99 is a decent price for a new Pro Controller, but it is not the lowest seen. Similar pricing has appeared on Amazon Resale, and some shoppers report new sealed units under $40 on eBay or better discounts on Switch 2 Pro controllers.

  • It can be a good option for Switch emulation on PC, especially if you want to keep your PS5 controller paired with your PS5. The main tradeoff is that some buyers prefer 8BitDo alternatives or newer TMR-stick controllers to reduce drift concerns.

  • Stick drift is a common reason to choose something else, and some shoppers prefer 8BitDo or newer TMR-stick controllers for that reason. Others still consider the Pro Controller one of the best controllers ever made despite its age.

  • Yes, counterfeit units are a concern with marketplace listings and even shipped orders. Packaging can vary by region or indicate knockoffs, and one report describes receiving a fake from Walmart, making store pickup or delivery safer for Nintendo accessories.

  • It may not be the right choice if powering on a Switch 2 matters to you. That compatibility/use case is specifically called out as a reason to skip this controller.

You can get these new sealed for under $40 on ebay. Everyone is dumping them since the switch 2 came out.

ebay has a lot with slightly different packaging. Either different region or just knockoffs.

Honestly it's not Nintendos fault because these are in the hands of the retailers not so if they want to discount them they can.But they choose not to.But for one the greatest controllers or all time I don't think it's a bad price.Sony and Microsoft have controllers that cost over $200 dollars.

This controller is for the most popular system ever that's nearly 10 years old. Stores should be giving me $56 to take it off their hands. 🙄

Since when is nearly$50 "giving it away"??? Last Gen at $59 is not a steal nor a deal. It's the new monthly normal price

Weird, there's no mention of PS2 compatibility.

Would normally agree with you. But designing a console where the old controller doesn't turn it on is some Omen level shit
