If you have a BJ's Club nearby, it's cheaper per lb

20lbs = $18.79

It's not cheaper if you have to burn gas to get it?

My go to was when discover had 10 off 75+ spend with a discover point (been a while now).. and surprisingly I could use my amazon GC balance to pay for it. Hence I grabbed six of these bags, notes saying it was 75.37 I paid on June 1. Although the other day was a better deal without a promo.

FYI Unless you want to be one and done for a couple days on preparation as I do or add seasonings/etc, the taste when it is freshly made is way better. Meanwhile I still have three of these bags remaining. They actually went back to it coming in the "collectible" fabric sacks at least for that more recent purchase. Versus some time after 2021 them+Amazon using a cheaper bag holding it (obviously cutting costs) which included the time before last. (February 7 per my purchase history.)

an often forgotten fact by "deal" hunters. kinda like driving around looking for the lowest gas price.

This is the best rice I've ever found at the grocery store. I love Middle Eastern kabobs on a bed of rice and the way they make the rice is really delicious. This is the only rice I've bought off the shelf that approaches the same taste and quality.

What's your bug tolerance like? In reviews, 98 customers report receiving "infested bags with small bugs and white wiggly worms".

There's a reason I commented above to not buy rice from Amazon. The last and only time I bought rice from Amazon was in April this year (same deal as this one). We donated one bag to a Sikh temple where they provide free food to people. We didn't get to use the other bag until after more than a month later. We noticed bugs crawling inside the bag. It was too late to inform the temple about it because they must have already used it by then (they go through multiple bags in a week). I checked Amazon reviews (which I should've done prior to purchase) and saw multiple reviews of people getting bugs inside the bags. I contacted Amazon right away and informed them about this issue. I was hoping they would've removed the item from their page but apparently not. The only place we buy these rice from now is Sam's Club.

I'm white and not a rice snob but extra long basmati is excellent. Go to your Indian Cash and Carry. I like Tilda Ultima which scored reasonably well in an Indian federal purity and safety test. Whether you trust India's safety test of anything is a different discussion.

It has nothing to do with Amazon. This brand is cheaper because they ethylene gas the rice in bulk at the import warehouses, then package without a secondary screening and filtering process like other rice and psyllium suppliers do.
