A1 is the lowest rating for cut resistance (except for unrated). They aren't actually intended for working with sharp things, just providing nominal protection for low risk tasks like warehouse handling, carpentry, packaging, etc.
If you're actually working with things that are inherently sharp or intended to cut, you want to be at least in an A4/A5 level glove and ratings go all the way up to A9 for protection working with things like shredded metal and industrial blades.
