I caught this same deal back in April and it came with plastic around each part. The box was a little beat up but I didn't mind as long as everything inside was good. Honestly, I impulse bought it with no planned use lol. I finally got tired of taking a Bluetooth speaker in to work every day and took this instead. I just use a little rechargeable Bluetooth dongle I had laying around and I've been very pleased. My desk is in a manufacturing environment and I've never even come close to maxing this thing out. I am a speaker junky and have everything from budget gems to higher end, premium speaker setups. I didn't expect these to sound good but they really are pleasant to listen to. The subwoofer actually puts out some bass (didn't see that coming because it feels like a toy when you pull it out lol). I don't think anyone is buying these for critical listening but I just thought i would pop in to say that these definitely get the job done and at this price, it's easy to recommend
