The main thing to be aware of with this dryer is the maximum temperature of 75C. If you print with high temperature engineering filaments like Nylon PA6 or Carbon Fiber filaments, you need a dryer that will achieve a higher temperature of 80C+. The Sovol SH03 will achieve that, along with the Creality Space Pi X4. If you only print with PLA, PETG, ABS or TPU the X4L will fit your needs perfectly (I own 3)

Dumb question but can you mitigate that higher heat needed for those engineering filaments by just drying them a lot longer at 75?

AI: Short answer: longer time at 75 °C helps, but it is not a full substitute for 80°C+ on the really hygroscopic engineering filaments (nylon PA6, PC, some filled nylons). You can get "good enough for most prints," you usually cannot get "as dry as the datasheet assumes."

I recently tried printing some Sunlu PA6-CF on my Elegoo Centauri Carbon. Initial results after drying for 5 hours at 70C were quite poor, tons of stringing and poor surface quality. Transferring to my X4 and drying at the full 85C for 14hr did the trick, the prints were exactly like you see on the videos. I'd imagine you'd have to do it for 24hrs+ at 75C. At that point, the energy usage, heating up your bedroom, and the distinct Nylon odor would drive you crazy if printing with it regularly

This has been close to this price new before so I just don't see this as a good price for a used unit that only reaches 75 degrees. The sovol SH03 seals, can do 85 degrees and has automatic vents. For roughly the same money I'd choose a new Sovol SH03 over a used Creality Space Pi x4l any day.

Sovol Sh03 hands down, i got mine like last weekend, costed me less than 60 bucks brand new from AiE with Sale+cb
It has seal, automatic venting and some other QOL features, that one is equivalent Pi x4 but cheaper.
Seal plus auto venting is such a nice feature to have and most dryer do not have that.
