Have you ever seen a stihl? Held one? Used one to cut? Every single arborist I spoke to uses Stihl. Thing is they are double than this

i picked up a 455 Rancher back in 2014 when my wife and I moved into our new house, fantastic saw. like most home owners with <3 acres, it comes out a dozen or so times a year. starts every time and just runs.

if the less expensive option starts every time and performs well, for something used a handful of times by a homeowner per year, why would i or anybody else care? and what would be the point of spending 2x?
if you're using it daily, yup, spend the money on the better tools. but this ain't that, nor is it the intention of the manufacturer.

There is a huge difference between a 460 Rancher and a 395XP. No a pro wouldn't be using a Rancher. But a pro similarly isn't using an MS311 when the MS660 exists.
