Check out the 3000mm waterproof rating, it is meant for light rain or snow.

Right. It's not marketed for use in heavy rain. The title on the product page says "10 oz Lightweight, Breathable in Warm, Humid Weather; Durable Waterproof Coating for Light to Moderate Rain" Considering the whole thing packs away into it's own inner pocket and only weighs 10 oz, it makes sense it's not intended for heavy rain. This is what AI says about a 3000mm rating: A 3000mm waterproof rating means that the fabric can withstand a column of water 3000mm tall before it starts to leak, making it suitable for moderate to heavy rain in typical camping conditions. This rating is generally considered adequate for most camping scenarios, but higher ratings are recommended for harsher weather.
