Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is a standout turn based RPG with a strong story, striking cinematics, and an excellent soundtrack. The combat feels more interactive than older turn based games, and the game has plenty of replay value. Performance can be demanding on PC, though it has been playable on handhelds and higher end systems with low settings, FSR, or frame generation. The tight parry and dodge windows can also make later sections feel punishing. At this price, it comes across as a memorable, high value pick.

  • The game delivers a strong narrative, gameplay, and soundtrack experience on PC.

  • The game's story and cinematics provide most of the value, with replay value beyond the main run.

  • Performance can improve as play progresses, which can make later sessions feel smoother.

  • The game can run around 60 FPS on a ROG Ally at 1080p low settings using FSR and frame generation.

  • The game's later combat may feel miserable due to tight parry and dodge timing windows.

  • PC performance may be difficult to achieve without low settings and some frame-generation approach.

  • Loaded's key sourcing and region movement can raise concerns about grey-market practices.

Excellent game! I was concerned about the timing of the combat, but I figured it out and learned it enough to finish the game.
The music is amazing. One of the best parts.

Not easily, but you can probably pull off 30FPS @ 720p/900p with low settings and some type of third party or AMD frame generation software.
I tried it recently on my regular ROG Ally it it was running 60 fps 1080 low settings with FSR and frame gen

Wish I could forget this game so I could experience it all over again. $22 is basically giving it away. One of my favorite games of all time.

I can imagine that setup would be a miserable experience gameplay wise considering the tight parry and dodge windows you have to master in later parts of the game.

Loaded(formerly Cdkeys) and Instantgaming have been my go-to for cheap video games, never had any issues buying for quite a few years.

From all these comments, I bought last night and downloaded.

~45Gb: took only 3-4 mins to download.
I started it up and holy shit, it's good. Graphics are decent, but the story/music/immersion is incredible. I played for 2 hours and hardly chipped into the game (just deployed on the expedition). But I spent that two hours talking to everyone in the town to learn more about what happened. And then you get to the island and holy shit. The cutscenes are amazing. This is truly an interactive movie. I'm hooked and ready to start agin.

The little quotes are so good as well.

"I'm using up my uselessness today so I can use all my usefulness tomorrow" going to start using this one!
