The Wyze Bodyscan Ultra is a better deal at $75. It adds auto sync with Wifi and color screen with stats/graphs

How would this compare to a scale like Hume?

no but can give you nice trends that you can use to work with, i think other scales do the same at a much lower price point imo

I got the ultra body scan day 1 since I had gotten into getting into shape just a few weeks prior, and wanted to measure my trend lines. So that was back in November, or about 10 months of almost daily usage. I've also had 2 dexa scans in that time to sync up. For my body, I've been very happy with the performance and think it's a phenomenal tool for tracking trends, and even point in time readings. That said, my dexa showed a 10lb lean mass gain in that time and the bia scale showed no gain, but I had also lost 60lbs.

I will say at 17% bf dexa, the bia also reported about 16%, so not far off. it was quite a bit off when I was over 30%, but tbf, nobody wants to know their exact % at those levels. i think at sub 20% it is quite accurate for me. AI can also visually estimate bodyfat, but Gemini is too lenient and others may be a bit more harsh.

also I've had to replace the 4 AAA batteries twice now I think, so about every 4 months using an average of twice a day on wifi model

That's good to hear, I tried the GE bluetooth one with the handlebar, and it was so comically inaccurate compared to my last DEXA scan.
