Physical's msrp is $70 so this is matching the digital price. FYI there is a special edition(currently not available) but it seems to only be a steelcase and amiibo.

It's also $60 at Walmart. The SAVE3X code does not appear to work on this like it did for the OOT preorder.

Don't care to invest much time in games anymore, but when I do, the games sure have to be awesome. If this is anything like Metroid Dread you're sure in for a treat.

This is a 2D game from a different developer. If you haven't, I recommend their previous, Metroid Dread on Switch. I also passed on Metroid Prime 4 despite being a big fan of the series.

Dread gave me PTSD from those crazy robots. I ended up having to play it through emulation and cheats. That said, I loved everything about it gameplay-wise. I preordered this but if it's anything like Dread, I might just watch videos unless they have a casual setting to play.

Man, I hope this trend continues. 3rd time in a row a major release has been marked $10 off or more for a physical copy. Start Fox was $50, OoT remake was either $60 or $50 if you got the code to work, and now metroid. This is why it's so important to stand up for physical media even if you're mostly digital and stop buying anything Sony. Physical media helps everyone as opposed to a digital storefront that controls pricing and even dynamic pricing depending on what it thinks you're willing to pay. I've never seen an establishing company go down the shutter so fast.

Yeah.. absolutely. I have had every PlayStation, and even have bought most my games digitally, but they just don't cease to surprise how quickly they are just becoming more of just an evil company. I wouldn't mind as much if you could actually buy digital codes from competing stores like you were able to 10 years ago. But because Sony now wants to have their monopoly over where you buy games and controlling the prices, they have garnered so much ill will with their customers. I haven't turned my PS5 in 3 months because I have already played the best exclusive games they had (and for the course of the PS5 history, it is a relatively short list compared to previous PlayStation generations like PS2). Even Wolverine has gotten very lack luster reviews for them. Meanwhile, Nintendo is finally getting there with the Switch 2 game library and is still really pushing physical. I only just got my Switch 2 before the price hike for Zelda Ocarina Remake, Donkey Kong Bananza and the very next day they drop news of the Metroid Ravenous.
