$1/movie is hard to beat. Still sucks that Apple doesn't give any kind of a discount if you already "own" the movie. They even make it intentionally difficult to see if you have it yet or not. They could easily mark if you have it already but instead they make you click on each movie to see if you have it.

What you suggest is too much work. They could have done what Fanflix does by giving individual codes so you can trade or give away redundant movies. But Apple would quickly run out because their codes are typically 8 letter alpha numeric. Their app is terrible. Fandango would easily let you see what you already own in a given bundle.

Too much work?? It's Apple. They have infinite resources. They could easily distinguish for you if you already own it or give you a discounted price for any movies you already own? Why are you such a corporate bootlicker?

Just checked and while those are marked as MA on Fandudu, they didn't port and they're not listed on MA.

I figure it would be the same as when Microsoft stopped doing movies. They all stayed on Movies Anywhere. I had some Lionsgate films on MS that did not port when they joined, but MS movies and tv was already shut down at that point

Both Lionsgate and Paramount have the capability to generate iTunes codes on the fly when they give you the option to redeem their code in either Fandango or iTunes. Apple should be able to. There are around half a million movie titles. Let's say 10% uses iTunes codes, each prints half a million copies. Suddenly that number doesn't look that big. Fortunately with Lionsgate going MA, they won't be needing much iTunes codes anymore going forward. Power Ballad which was released couple weeks ago still let you redeem in iTunes if you want it in 4K instead of HD in MA.

It's too much work. Fandango doesn't do it, neither does Google. So why should Apple? In fact, both Fandango and Fanflix does mix and match or build your own bundle, Apple never does that. In the "essential" bundle, I own two in HD. Apple cannot develop an ESP to read my mind to predict if I want to upgrade to 4K or have a discount for the ones I own in HD. There is just too much complexity involved to giving you a discount for the titles you already own.

So how long do you get have the movies before they decide to take them back and say you didn't buy them, you only paid for a temporary license to watch them while they were offered.

So no matter what I do or what links I click it just takes me to a apge and shows me the 20 items in the bundle, but never offers to let me buy any of them? Anyone else seeing this? I am logged in on my laptop
