The 2lb of this exact flavor was recently available on Amazon for around the same price.

It seems people don't dig the Red 40.

I personally bought 3 from the 2lb Amazon deal because whey is so damn expensive now, but I got the detox steps lined up:

1. Hide the tub: Stash it behind old canned beans so you stop sipping liquefied synthetic cereal milk.

2. Hydrate: Drink 3–4L of water. Red 40 and sucralose pass through your kidneys naturally—no $90 juice fast required.

3. Eat a sour green apple: Sucralose is 600x sweeter than real sugar. Reset your hijacked tastebuds.

4. Eat plain Greek yogurt: Apologize to your gut microbiome with live active cultures.

5. Upgrade the routine: Switch to unflavored whey + real frozen berries for actual antioxidants and gains.
There's read 40 in it? Out.

I just fixed my lactose intolerance from SIBO. Not worth the savings to risk it from red40 and sucralose. Lactase pills cost more in the long term if I mess it up again.

https://www.gastroclinic.com/diet...sibo-diet/

mentions splenda (sucralose) explicitly

there are massive threads on Reddit and elsewhere that track all the studies

it seems no artificial sweeter is good for you but sucralose is now one I am trying to cut out 100% because it's the worst

Just FYI for anyone that orders this, I just picked up my order from Target a few minutes ago, and the Expiration/Best By date is 8/19/26, so almost a full month passed. Makes sense why it's on sale. As long as it tastes and smell ok, and the seal isn't broken, I think I'll still keep it though.

Disruption of the gut microbiome by artificial sweeteners have been known for a while (the landmark study published in Nature came out in 2014). I have gotten shit when I previously mentioned it in protein deals, so I am glad that times are changing. That said, I certainly wouldn't call sucralose the worst. That distinction would go to erythritol, which is prothombotic and can increase the risk of heart attacks and stroke.

I already quit drugs and alcohol, they aren't taking away my artificial sweeteners too. I will have my one vice

Idea: Don't screw up your gut microbiome by consuming so many artificial sweeteners in the first place
Of course. These past years I would consustently TD proteins full of chemicals and artificial like this one.

But in a world where whey protein is a high priced luxury item (especially the "clean" brands), I'll deal with some artificial sweeteners until prices normalize.

That said, Amazon had 2lb of this flavor for around the same price, so this isn't much of a deal.
