Both United and American Airlines have round trip airfares travelling to and from Des Moines IA (DSM) and Oahu Hawaii (Honolulu/Waikiki) for $428, making 1 stop both ways. These are basic economy fares so on United, you're only allowed a personal item (that fits under the seat in front of you) but on American you may have a personal item and a carry-on bag. There is no seat selection and no change. You will not be able to earn American Advantage points for basic economy fares.
