I really want this TV, but man is it expensive. I'm keeping more of an eye out for the QM8L 98inch to see if it'll get down to 3,500$ for black friday

Genuine Questions...
- Why is this (way) more than OLEDs in the same size?
- How are "20,000+ precisely controlled discrete local dimming zones" better than each pixel lighting as as needed on an OLED (8 million+ for 4k)
- Why is resolution not even mentioned?

In general, why is this worth so much? Outside of max brightness - Help me understand. Feels very scammy.

It has to do with the peak brightness it can reach. It's over twice as bright as the top OLED and because it has so many zones it gets very close to having the OLED light control. it's also about the same price as the OLEDs it compares to. The G6 and S95h Plus since it isn't OLED you never have to worry about burn in. The real value though is if you wanted a 98inch TV. OLEDs at that price are 20k, while this is under half of that.
