This bundle stands out as a midrange Radeon RX 9070 GRE deal that adds Onimusha and lands below other current pricing. The card is framed as a solid 1440p rasterization upgrade, with performance estimates ranging from about 20 percent to 40 percent over an RX 6800, and the game code helps the value feel better than a bare card. The main drawback is 12GB of memory, which can be limiting for some games and makes it a sideways move if you already have an RX 6800 and need more VRAM. It looks strongest for a straightforward GPU upgrade when the bundle price matters more than extra memory.

Common Questions (5)

  • It is roughly a 20% faster card than the RX 6800 non-XT, so it can be a worthwhile upgrade if you can sell or reuse the 6800. If your games need more than 12GB of VRAM, the RX 6800 is the safer choice; otherwise the GRE's higher performance can outweigh the 4GB memory gap.

  • At $500, the bundle is viewed as strong value because it includes Onimusha and is cheaper than many other listings. Waiting could save money, but the card market is unpredictable and the free game may not still be included later.

  • 12GB is enough for many 1440p games, but it can require lowering texture settings in heavier titles. If your current games already need more than 12GB, the RX 6800's extra memory is the better fit.

  • If you already have an RX 6800, it is often a lateral move unless you specifically want the extra performance. The 9070 GRE is faster, but the 6800's extra VRAM can still matter in games that exceed 12GB.

  • Yes, an older CPU such as an 8700K can bottleneck the card in some systems. A more modern platform will let the GPU show its full benefit, especially in CPU-heavy games.

if you are suggesting to lower texture to keep 9070 gre "fast", why not suggest lower the resolution on the 6800 to keep it "fast"? lol
You're taking this a bit out of context. A difference of only 4GB vram isn't THAT much so with the 9070GRE you'll get, lets pretend, 120fps but you'll have to play the game at high settings, where as the 6800 you would get 100fps but you can play at ultra settings, no resolution change is necessary. The 20% performance gap in favor of the 9070 GRE will always exist no matter what resolution you play at. If you lower the resolution for the 6800, you would do the same for the 9070 GRE to keep the comparison fair and in the end, that would only benefit the 9070 GRE even more since VRAM is not as important at lower resolutions.

12gb is a bummer but honestly unless you need a smaller card for a sff rig, i think i'd feel a lot better paying 500 for a gre and a 70 dollar game code than 470 for a 9060xt which is like the only other viable "mid range" card, so thumbs up

If you don't value the game card and are building a pc, newegg does have another 9070 gre that can go down to 485 if bought with another component. Not a big difference and onimisha is supposedly pretty good but an option none the less.

Do not buy gigadookie, no matter how good a deal it looks. They are ranked the lowest in BBB out of all the vendors and almost always will deny/reject/claim they never got rma, or return to sender ones that require signature comfirm packages. They are the garbage of garbage pc vendor you can buy. Again need proof go look at their BBB score of a solid F.

ok thanks for reply. I'm looking to upgrade from a 1660 super. lol
The 1060 Super was a glorified 1070, which was released 10 years ago. Assuming you'd use the graphics on the new card, this card doesn't even compare to what you have right now. I'd even suggest looking into a new monitor so that the colors really pop at you.
