Why are all cables only charge cables? These days and no data does anybody not transfer data anymore?

It states, "Transfer movies, music, or an entire photo library in seconds with 480Mbps transfer speeds."

Yeah, terribly slow USB 2.0 speeds but still usable in a pinch.

Would be nice if they printed the wattage capability on one side of the plug to make them easier to identify after they get mixed in with a bunch of other usb-c cables.

Sometimes they do, but not always. Can you confirm that these particular cables have that?

Edit: According to pictures in the user reviews on Amazon, these do *not* show 100W on the ends of the cables.

Are you only looking at cheap cables? The ones you want are considerably more expensive than $5 cables. Search for USB c thunderbolt cables or USB 4 cables and you'll find them but they are $10-20 for off brand.

https://www.anker.com/ca/blogs/ca...2-0-vs-3-0

USB 2.0 only needs 4 wires, where a 3.0 "data" cable has 9. More than doubles the copper per wire. Also, the longer the cable, the more shielding needed to maintain signal integrity.

Simply put: if you want a data cable, more goes into it and it is going to cost more. If you just want a charging cable, they can cut that extra stuff and sell you a 6' braided cable with metal plugs for $5 each.
