Community Reviews
Owala FreeSip stands out as a cleverly designed insulated bottle with both straw sipping and tilt drinking from the same cap, plus a handle and a wide mouth that make it easy to use and clean. The cap fully comes apart, including the rubber stopper, which helps avoid trapped soap or mold. Cup holder fit is a plus for some versions, but this 40 ounce bottle is also called out as not cup holder friendly. Insulation gets mixed real world feedback, and the price is widely seen as premium rather than a true bargain, making it a distinctive but pricey everyday bottle.
Common Questions (5)
It does fit in cup holders, but some shoppers still prefer the Sway model for better vehicle compatibility. The 40oz FreeSip is also described as not being cup-holder friendly by others, so fit may depend on the specific car and holder size.
Its standout feature is the FreeSip cap, which lets you drink through a straw or tilt the bottle to sip from the same lid. The dual-purpose click-button cap is also described as convenient and secure.
The bottle fully comes apart, including the rubber stopper on the pop-up lid, which makes it easier to clean and helps avoid soap or mold buildup. The cap has many moving parts, though, so cleaning the lid itself can still be tedious.
It can hold ice well for some users, but one report says ice melted in about 6 hours. Another comparison says its hot/cold retention is not as strong as a Yeti, so insulation may be decent rather than best-in-class.
The price is described as the brand's normal sale price rather than a true discount. Similar premium bottle brands have cycled through the same kind of pricing before, so this deal may be more of a standard promotion.

Yeah they're stupidly expensive, but they really are nice, unique bottles. The usual straw-type or swig-type mouth is not nearly as convenient.

It's ok, but other big dumb cups kept ice way longer. I do like the straw though.
the drinking spout/straw hybrid design makes them stand apart from the other brands, but the insulation or hot/cold retention ability isn't as good as something like a yeti.
yeti's are heftier and feel better built, but even more overpriced
