One of the best sci-fi series ever, with one of the silliest far-too-cute finales that almost spoils it.

Is this a clamshell case, out of curiosity?

Does anyone have the earlier box set with silver-ish packaging? Is it the same discs repackaged?

I recently started streaming this on Paramount+. TBH, it's more Soap Opera than Space Opera. I bailed out midway through S3. Decided to watch something with a lot less drama… like General Hospital or Days of Our Lives. 🙄
Totally agree. I got this set years ago after all the reviews. I couldn't get over the terrible acting and silly writing. One person can turn off all planetary defenses and no one notices?... I donated it to the Salvation Army.

As much as I love physical media, for convenience, got the digital series for like $20 when it was at that price. Happy with that.

I'm mostly in agreement. The later part of the second season also had some bad episodes, like Black Market, but it improved quite a bit after that. The ending was controversial, but more or less completed the message the show had been pushing towards.

BSG really paved the way for narrative-driven sci-fi, pushing the genre just like Babylon 5 in the 90's. You see heavy influence in The Expanse, and Moore's newer creations, For All Mankind and Star City.
