Buyer beware: this doesn't have a straw, it is a spout to drink from so it may be harder for the younger kiddos

The straw one is better. Harder cap and harder to break. Kids broke this top after a few drops. The straw one never broke.

The 12oz one are standard with straw. The 18oz are usually a spout.

We ordered extra caps directly from thermos. Our boys are in elementary, so they don't need straw. We put sprout caps into both 12oz and 18oz.

My 3yo and 6yo vastly prefer this pour spout over the straw version. It's also easier to clean and holds more water. I actually use these as my main water bottle also because I prefer the size and so many adult water bottles are huge. This is the perfect size for backpacks and car cup holders.
