Just look at the cost of SSDs. Heat wears them out.
Fun fact: Paradoxically flash cooking NAND at 800 degrees Celsius can actually repair them. One day we might get SSD Cookers that repair them.
I also hate the drive latch. It is a keyed hole that you need to slip the drive in and give it a 90 degree twist. It is not so easy with a full size drive. If you are not carfull the latch could easily break. I would have prefered the rubber plug or better yet a standoff that threadts in to the case.
Also it looks like the first pic shows it as a mettal bottom. If you look at the last pic (I did not) it has a thin heat sink that lives in the plastic bottom of the case. I realy hopped it was a metal bottom and that was its heat sink. I gain nothing realy in cooling from that $10 orico tube I had for years. In fact that one works.
I just filed the RMA and now I got to drive to Kohls.. ARG..
