Most likely it has a lithium battery. I saw one reviewer who said that it contained a 18650 battery. I think that confirms that it has a lithium battery. This would not be the first time that the item description hasn't been updated for any change in the battery specifications. Remember once you get it, you can always return it if you discover that it only contains a NiMH battery.

From description of Alexa on product page, "The Banral K518 Rechargeable Flashlight uses a built-in rechargeable NiMH (Nickel-Metal Hydride) battery."

I don't have it in front of me atm but I got this same flashlight about a month ago. It has no name 18650 battery. It's is just a form factor but overwhelming majority of 18650 are Lithium Ion, so very likely it is Li-ion.

Got these last time around. 18650s don't work in them. It's some other type of battery. Says "LED 18RL27 2200mah" on it. Tried to swap in the 18650 but no dice.

These are nice. Bought a couple years ago for $20 a pair. Still running well. Convenient they are rechargeable and with USB-c. Nice and bright.

I bought this on a previous sale and the flashlight is nice and bright. However it does get pretty warm when you leave it on for several minutes, so not sure how good it is for long-term use.

On Amazon, li-ion batteries will often be labeled Ni-MH to circumvent Amazon's policies. If you look for it, you'll see stuff like "1865[sic] 3.7V Ni-MH rechargeable battery", or "2170", etc.

As to other 18650s not fitting, sometimes the slots made for button-top cells are a few mm too long for flat-top cells, or the reverse, or the wrap on a cell is thicker than on another. The "18RL27" that was mentioned is (supposedly) 18650-sized.

I got these when they were on sale last time; at least I believe they're the same. There's 3 level's of brightness and a flashing mode and it's actually surprisingly bright. You can also pull out the end of it to tighten the light pattern. I use these all the time, just used it today installing a toilet as a matter of fact.

With that being said, I do not carry them in my pocket. I tried it one time and wore it to work. When I got to work I pulled it out of my pocket and it was on (must have turned on in my pocket without me knowing it). It was extremely hot to the touch, so I don't wear it anymore. I just keep one at work and keep another at home.

For $10 they're well worth it.

I bought the same deal on Amazon last time. They're okay, but they don't last more than half an hour.
