Mediocre speaker. I bought this, and then the Onn Medium gen2 party speaker a couple weeks later for $41. This Milwaukee thing has been sitting unused in the garage since.

The Milwaukee sounds terrible in comparison, doesn't get as loud (although it's close on battery power, as the Onn has less output when not plugged into the wall), and has no water resistance rating. The Onn thing is IPX7 rated and I wash off the dirt/mud with the hose, blow dry with a leafblower.

The Milwaukee sure lasts longer on battery though - notably with all the 8.0/9.0Ah packs I have. Consumes less power (weaker speaker output) and the different battery options makes that one the king of runtime possibilities. The Onn should have the same capacity as a small M18 2.0Ah pack. I only get about 5 hours of runtime on the Onn, with FM radio and medium-to-high volumes, outdoor on the property (no neighbor for over 1/8 mile).

These jobsite stereos are indeed all quite terrible for the price Frown

Sweet, thanks for posting! I've been waiting for this jobsite radio to pop up on here. I'm not sure if it's a particularly good deal or not but its mere presence here on SD is excuse enough for me to finally pick it up. In other words, you're now considered an enabler to my Milwaukee addiction and, as we all know, an addict always appreciates a good enabler.

So in summary, this is best for people who hate good sound quality and like paying too much, even when its on sale. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Thanks for the warning!

That was pretty much my thought!

After looking for a deal for months, I snagged the Milwaukee and was letdown quite quickly when I found another (the Onn things on sale) that A) had proper sealing and B) was even cheaper, so I wouldn't feel as bad about abusing it.

I also bought those later "large" Onn speakers that were on sale, as posted here on slickdeals, but those things aren't waterproof. Also a decent deal, but I haven't been using the two "large" units I bought - I just like the idea of having them for the rare situation where I want a reasonably powerful speaker, without lugging my PA speakers and EcoFlow unit someplace. I bought a few more of the mediums after finding how great the first was, although not realizing within the return policy that only 2 can be wirelessly synced. They were still hard to pass up at $41 a piece, shipped. That said, it looks like those Onn speakers are back up to $85 now days.

I just haul one outside every few days when I'm working on a project for hours - harvesting produce, building fencing, trenching with my tractor, whatever. 3M worktunes headsets always begin to hurt my ears after an hour from the clamping pressure, so this year I told myself that I would try some loudspeakers for times when I don't need hearing protection. I use the thing rain or shine, and it hasn't let me down since June. Biggest annoyance is needing to hold the LED button for a few seconds after power on, to shut off the lights.

I also tried Soundcore Boom 2 and Boom 2 Pro "boombox" design speakers - they also haven't been getting used.

If you are buying this thinking its going to give you high fidelity sound like a JBL etc. you're seriously missing the point of this product. It's a jobsite speaker made for durability, it is not made for audiophiles.

Just for a different perspective, I've been very happy with mine. I especially like the AM/FM as I listen to a couple local stations regularly. The directionality is also nice for me as you aren't pumping sound to all neighbors when camping or when on a job site.

Pretty different products and uses so sounds like a job site speaker isn't what you were looking for. Makes sense!

Thanks for going into detail why this is a bad deal and offering better alternatives at less than half the price. I gave you a rep for saving me from wasting my money.

Jobsite? I live in a new housing development under heavy construction employing at least 200 construction crews and nobody uses one of these. It wont survive a fall from a roof any more than you will. Thinking rationally, if someone is so incompetent that they cant even place something as simple as a speaker where it wont get destroyed, the last thing Id want them to do is actually work on a simple construction project and burn the place down. If you're looking for something to provide sound outdoors or in a noisy environment, you should be looking for something that accomplishes that task and projects sound. This aint it.
I have an official jobsite brick I can sell you for $50, and I'll even include shipping.

How is that different from any other bluetooth speaker?

Many Bluetooth speakers aren't directional or have AM/FM, if that's what you are asking.

Most bluetooth speakers are directional, and that is a fact.
