I also have the C909 which I purchased almost 2 years ago in the main living area and have been overall happy with it.

One of my units actually had the fan portion break and start clicking on any setting above 1. This was likely due to the UPS lady literally tossing my units to my porch. I decided to go through warranty instead of returning to Costco and Winix sent me a new replacement (with more filters!) through warranty. They didn't want the old unit back so I opened it up, used a strong epoxy to repair the fan, and now I have 5 units that work.
