This solar LED address light is mainly valued for its clean nighttime look and readable house numbers, with enough extra number pieces to build longer addresses and even five digits. It can stay visible all night when it gets strong direct sun, and the daylight appearance is attractive too. The main catch is solar charging, since awnings, soffits, or other shading can leave it underpowered and fading later at night. The display is also not backlit, and the brightness may be brighter than expected. A good fit when the mounting spot gets plenty of sun.

Common Questions (5)

  • It needs direct solar exposure to fully charge, and shading from awnings, soffits, or other blocked sunlight can shorten runtime. In good sun it can stay on all night, but partial shade may leave it running out later in the night.

  • It can display 5 digits, and the included number set has extra pieces: numbers 0-5 in four sets, 6-9 in three sets, plus A-C letters and blank plates. Some installations may be easier with only 4 numbers if using the regular endcaps.

  • Yes, some units reportedly work for about 3 weeks and then stop lighting, while replacements or reassembled units may light again. That points to possible dud units rather than a universal design issue.

  • No, it is not backlit. The light shines onto black plastic cutouts over a white plastic sheet, so the effect is dimmer than the photos may suggest for some buyers and brighter than expected for others.

  • Yes, it uses two 18650 batteries to power the light. That matters because battery condition will affect how long it stays lit after charging.

Absolutely. After fully charged, I installed it, it got lots of sun. As I said, I had it installed for about 3 weeks. Funny thing, I took it down and disassembled it. When I put it back into the box, it lit up!
its messing with you. Finish the story, what did you do after it lit up again???

unfortunatly, i got one then realized that the location i planned on using it had a outdoor light above it that prevents the lights to turn on the address sign itself. Did not work for my use

Got this a couple months ago, very visible and stays lit all night (so far, summer is not the challenge)

Pleased with purchase so far.

Seems odd to me that so many others online only have room for 4 digits and I needed 5.
It's because instructions were not as clear on how to place the numbers and endcaps. I ended up putting endcaps wrong way and looked odd and had to redo to fit nicely. Mine was 4, so with 5 numbers, I assume it'd be trickier since it wouldn't take regular endcaps. If someone installs regular endcap, then max 4 numbers only fit.

Works well, but needs direct solar light to fully charge. Mine stays on most of the night, then it runs out. There is an edge on my front that blocks a lot of solar light hitting it.

No biggie, I like the look.
